Obama and the magic of words

“In the beginning, the Word existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)

Words have magical powers. They can create. They can destroy. And sometimes beyond all human abilities and possessions, it is only the words than can make a change; even in today’s chaotic world.

Is the US changed? Is the Muslim world changed? Is Europe changed? The answer is no not yet.

This is much too complicated to be changed in a twinkle of an eye. But what has happened that the whole world is seeing a brighter future ahead?

What has happened that the Middle East is calming down? What has happened to once-enemy countries that now are getting closer and seeking peace?
It is only through one man’s words that the whole world is seeing a change, at least in the global atmosphere of politics. Although the real “change” is yet to happen in the long term, Obama has done his part as a world leader to initiate it.

Obama did well to bring the hope of a brighter future back.

The respect in his words for all humanity, the sense of friendship in his tune, the confident and vividness in his sentences, and the hope he builds in people’s hearts are what the world needs to step forward for a better future.

Words are magic…
